Cygnus Constellation

Cygnus Constellation , quite close to Zenith at 5 am morning sky.

Albeiro and Deneb (19th brightest star in the sky), are the end stars and are visible in this constellation with good magnitude.

A very large constellation, Cygnus is bordered by Cepheus to the north and east, Draco to the north and west, Lyra to the west, Vulpecula to the south, Pegasus to the southeast and Lacerta to the east.

The constellation is deriving its name from the Latinized Greek word for swan. Brahma's vehicle is swan in Hindu mythology and that is cited as a correlation to Brahmamuhurtham which is in the early morning, known as Creator's Hour. The constellation is known to shine bright in the sky at that time as if in penance and implying its presence.

Yesterday's sky was so clear and I tried getting a picture of my daughter with the Saptarishi Mandal while she continued to track down the stars of Draco, the dragon constellation.
