Delphinus constellation - the Tamizh star Avittam


Delphinus Constellation:
It was visible two days back on the east sky at 9 pm. It is one of the smallest constellations.
Delphinus is the 69th constellation in size, occupying an area of 189 square degrees. The neighboring constellations are Aquarius, Aquila, Equuleus, Pegasus, Sagitta, and Vulpecula.
Delphinus belongs to the Heavenly Waters family of constellations, along with Carina, Columba, Equuleus, Eridanus, Piscis Austrinus, Puppis, Pyxis, and Vela.
Delphinus has five stars with known planets and contains no Messier objects.
Messier Objects:

It is a collection of deep sky objects (galaxies, nebulae, star clusters) and other astronomical objects (asterisms, binary stars) that are visible with binoculars and telescopes in that constellation location.
The brightest star in the Delphinius constellation is Rotanev, Beta Delphini. There are no meteor showers associated with the constellation.
Alpha Delphini is sometimes known as Sualocin. Alpha to Delta Delphini together corresponds to the Avitam star in Tamil star charts. It is called Dhanishta in sanskrit , telugu and kannada.
It is the birth star of Bhishmar in Mahabaratha.
